Welcome to Fireflies & Falling Verses — a quiet corner for poetry, essays, and reflections on the beauty tucked inside ordinary days.
Here, words move slowly. They gather like light at dusk — soft, fleeting, and full of wonder.

This space began as a collection of poems but has grown into something more: a lantern for those who love stillness, story, and the turning of seasons. You’ll find gentle poems that wander through memory and nature, short essays on mindfulness and creativity, and glimpses of daily life in New England — where garden soil, morning light, and small rituals become reminders to pay attention.

I’m Angela Dowin, the owner behind the glow. Occasionally you will see poems and essays by my husband, Chris Dowin.

I live in Connecticut with my family, where I spend most days writing, tending a small garden, and chasing the quiet kind of beauty that shows up when we pause long enough to notice it.

Whether you come for a poem, a reflection, or simply a moment of calm — I hope this space feels like sitting on a porch at twilight, a few fireflies rising from the grass, and the world slowing just enough to breathe.
